My name is Amy Long and I was diagnosed with cancer in April 2025. My cancer was found during a routine mammogram. I have been overwhelmed with the wealth of support and love of family, friends, students, parents of students and coworkers (who are all friends!) as I have traveled through two rounds of chemo and two surgeries so far.  I still have radiation and at least one more surgery in my future.  

My precious daughter and son-in-law had my first grandchild this summer, a boy named Judah. My daughter attended many of my chemo visits at eight and nine months pregnant. The staff at the cancer center at Troy Kettering loved traveling this journey with us and enjoyed seeing the pictures of Judah when he was born on July 30. They also celebrated my birthday on July 31!

My daughter and I have many memories of going to the beach when she was little. My wish would be to take a beach vacation with my daughter, son in law and grandson when he turns one in the summer.  We discussed going to the beach, but financially knew that we wouldn't be able to do it this year due to medical bills.  Thank you so much for helping to make this wish come true. It will truly be a dream come true to have pictures on the beach with my grandson!
